General Biology

121 – Biological Concepts I (4 credits)

This course is an introduction to biological principles and a survey of organisms. It includes discussions of current topics including environmental and ethical issues.  It has a laboratory component.

For those not interested in becoming a biology major, this course is the biological sciences laboratory course that satisfies the laboratory component of the general education natural science requirement.  I is a prerequisite for all of the biological sciences non-laboratory courses that satisfy the second course in a series for the natural science requirement.

For those interested in becoming a biology major, this course does not count toward biology major.  However,  it is a prerequisite for all upper level biology courses.

A course website will become available as the course gets underway in the fall of 2008.
